Recently, I went to a nursery to buy plants. It was a nursery with all kind of plants. After walking around the plant gallery, I met the owner. He asked me what I was looking for. I said, I'm interested in terrarium friendly plants. He didn't have fittonia or crypthanthus or succulents.

He was telling me that he was trying to figure out what kind of plants he should specialize in. I threw few suggestions - like he can have a part of the nursery for ferns or succulents or money plants, etc.

He said, he tried stocking one variety but that was limiting as customers was asking for another type.

Imagine, if you are the nursery owner, what will you do? How will be stock and propagate the type of plants which will be more in demand?

Does One Size Fits All Approach Good for your Blog?

Unlike in 1950s, where marketing was a one-way street, today world is more attuned towards customers. This means, today's customer has more choices and options which makes one-type messaging ineffective.

This also means, one-size-fits-all-approach in blogging is not feasible. So, what's the best way to message to a larger audience?

  • What messages will resonate to your audience?
  • How do you find out the topics to write?
  • How to profile your visitors?
How can your blog post be different?

  • Post with short paragraphs and bulleted list
  • An infographic post
  • Include a short video
  • Insert graphics
  • Present a story about your business
  • Showcase a new service or product
  • Solve the problem faced by your customer
  • A testimonial
  • Whiteboard post
  • Long article written post
Ask Yourself - WHY, WHY!
This post is based on the blog I read on animalz site. The content talks about the purpose of writing blog and it starts with the WHY?

Coming to the aspect of writing blog, WHY is always a relevant question, every blogger should think before writing a post.

Here are the 6 questions to think!

1. Who is this blog post written for? The customer, half-ready buyer, stake holder, visitor, or for employees?

2. Is this content curated from another blog, or podcast or a book? Does it refer to the source?

3. What are the keywords used? Did you spend time to research on related keywords?

4. What's the density of keywords use? Are you targeting the low volume search keywords?

5. Why should someone share this blog? Is it compelling enough?

6. What way is this blog post unique? How different is it from the one written by someone else?

Who Can Blog and Why?

Blogging - Share your Ideas Online!
I would call myself a blog evangelist - someone who thinks that blog is for everyone, and all should embrace blog as a religion. However, in my pursuit to convert a newbie to a blogger has often failed? I'm not sure if it was the wrong audience, or the person was a obstinate in nature - not giving a receptive mind to listen to my preaching.

Despite all my failure to converting one non-believer into a blogging fan, I still continue to preach, talk and read about blogging.

Genesis - Blogging Mantra

Share your Skills, Stories and Passion!

It sounds cliched when you hear these kind of statements over and over again. Statements such as - Share your passion, Make an Imprint, Publish your passion, Publish it  etc.

What am I Talking?

I'm mentioning about blogging and how it has been used and overused term by SEO experts to newbies, and by digital marketing stalwarts.

Is Blogging Redundant?

Just like the often passed remark, Twitter dead, or Facebook is loosing subscribers, email marketing is not effective, blogging too had got its share of statements. The growth of other channels like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, or LinkedIn, Ticktok, doesn't mean the demise of long story telling format - blog.

What do business blog?

If you go through couple of popular blogs, one kind of pattern is common. Most blogs are used to share stores, promote their inside story or generate awareness about their business, or a product or a service.

Mostly written in informal language, leading blogs in any industry is popular b'cos the content talks about helping the reader or customer. Another strong reason why businesses blog is for branding. The content shared on the blog help them to standout in the marketplace as an expert in their domain.
